The concept of “above and beyond” is nothing new to Barbara Rubel, but she officially received an award by that name from the Florida Chapter of the Radiology Business Management Association.
Sponsored by Alpha II, the Above and Beyond Award is given to “an individual who has done more for the FRBMA/RBMA than would normally be expected” and Barbara’s contributions were honored at the annual meeting of the Florida chapter in July.
She has been a member of the FRBMA since moving to Florida in 2012, serving on its Board of Directors as President Elect 2016 and 2017 and then as President of the chapter for the 2018-2020 term.
Barbara is also a well-known speaker on regulatory topics and has presented at many of the chapter meetings on topics such as MIPS and MACRA, Appropriate Use Criteria and Clinical Decision Support, Hot Topics, What to Expect with ICD-10 and the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule Proposed and Final Rules.
She has also represented the FRBMA in the RBMA Chapter Consortium as a speaker, most recently presenting jointly with John Detelich, current FRBMA President and Chief Executive Officer of Radiology Associates of Tallahassee, PA, on the topic of AUC/CDS.
Barbara has been involved with the RBMA since she began working with MSN in 1998, serving as President of the Georgia RBMA 2000-2002 and President of the national organization 2008-2009. She has also chaired the RBMA Federal Affairs Committee for three years and was a member of the RBMA Technology Task Force and the Data Committee. Barbara also served on the Board of Directors as Southern Director.
Whether as an author, speaker or subject matter expert, Barbara Rubel has consistently gone above and beyond, generously sharing her knowledge as an industry leader and colleague.
