MIPS & QCDR
Maximize MIPS Payments with MSN’s QCDR Experts and Services
The Value of MIPS & QCDR at MSN
Failure to successfully participate in the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) and MIPS Value Pathways (MVP) programs can take a serious bite out of practice revenues.
MSN has been a CMS-approved Qualified Clinical Data Registry (QCDR) since 2016. As a QCDR we help our Radiology, Anesthesiology, Pathology, and Orthopedic clients optimize their MIPS reporting.
MSN also worked with physicians representing the more than 100 QCDR member practices to develop additional MIPS measures, providing the opportunity for enhanced MIPS scoring as other measures are reduced in value or removed from the program. And we’re positioned to assist our clients as commercial payers also move towards value-based reimbursement.

QCDR Services
As a QCDR, MSN’s clients can access over 20 QCDR quality measures in addition to all National quality measures. We offer two levels of service so you can choose the one that best suits your practice.
Standard QCDR Service
If you are interested in reporting MIPS through MSN’s QCDR but already have an internal team dedicated to all MIPS matters, MSN offers a standard package of QCDR services. This includes:
- Access to reporting QCDR measures
- Access to MSN’s QCDR Portal for secure, real-time access to your "missed" encounters
- End-of-year timely submission of MIPS data to CMS
- Monthly feedback reports with year-to-date performance, peer average benchmarks, and provider specific report cards
- Annual List of Improvement Activities with the ones common to your specialty highlighted
- Review of your Final QPP Feedback Report from CMS for accurate score calculations, with assistance if errors are found.
- Educational resources including MSN’s Provider Documentation Guide and webinars
- Optimization of your MIPS score after year-end with recommendations on measures to report
- Audit assistance, if ever chosen by CMS for an audit
QCDR with Enhanced MIPS Consulting (MIPit) (OPTIONAL)
MSN’s MIPit offering brings all the features of the standard QCDR service, and the expertise, advice, and guidance to give you the best opportunity to optimize your MIPS score – and reimbursement. One key component of this service is awareness and guidance of non-Medicare implications of MIPS as we begin to see commercial payers experiment with performance/incentive programs similar to MIPS.
MIPS Consulting (MIPit) is a concierge service package to help increase your MIPS score and maximize your incentive payment. As a MIPit client, you can expect all the services highlighted in Level 1 as well as the following:- A dedicated MIPS professional, ready to answer your questions
- Development of a MIPS strategy, including quality measure and improvement activity selection
- Monthly meetings with MSN MIPS experts to review your performance
- Forecast MIPS scoring, including estimated payment adjustments throughout the year
- Regular performance monitoring
- Interpretation of MIPS regulatory changes as they relate to your practice
- Filing of Extreme and Uncontrollable Circumstance applications on your behalf, if applicable
Value-Based Payment (VBP) Consulting – Beyond MIPS
MSN offers Value-Based Payment Consulting beyond MIPS. This includes, but is not limited to consulting on:
- Commercial value-based performance contracts
- Employer-based insurance programs
- Improving performance under VBP contracts
- Pros/cons/considerations of joining a Clinically Integrated Network (CIN) or Accountable Care Organization (ACO)
- Alternative Payment Models (APM) payments
